Ministries 

The Disciples of Mt. Pisgah are actively involved in a diversity of ministries to uplift, encourage, and serve God's people! Hover over each ministry title to learn about the mission of the ministry!

The Combined Ushers of Mt. Pisgah welcome one and all into the House of The Lord. The ushers serve with joy and gladness, ensuring that the service proceeds in devency and in order so that the Lord be praised and the people be blessed!

The mission of The Chancel Choir is to use psalms, hymns, anthems, and spiritual songs to teach and instruct others about God's Word; To Sing to God from the heart so that He may get the glory from all that is said and done; To keep the hymns of the church alive as testimonies of faith of our ancestors in our Lord and Savior, Jesus, the Christ.

The mission of the Angels of Praise is to build Christ-like loving individuals. They strive for excellence in all things; in who they are and what they do. They look not only to minister to our own congregation, but also to go forth and minister to others whenever they are called upon, striving to have the compassion and love for the Lord like David, who danced a great dance for the Lord.

This is a youth choir of children and teens, ages 3 to 18 years old. Our repertoire includes praise songs, hymns, spirituals, and contemporary gospel adapted for young people.

The mission of the Excelsior Choir is to lift our voices in praise to the Lord. We exalt the name of Jesus the Christ by ministering God's Word through sacred music. To assist the church's ministry through worship and service. To bring comfort, joy and hope to the people of God through song. To sing an assortment of music spanning the different religious genres in an effort to reach all who listen.

A ministry servicing seniors and retirees with social activities and pertinent information related to them.

A ministry that has the vision to beautify the church and its surroundings.

A ministry that collects and preserves all important artifacts concerning the history of the church for future generations.

To inform and keep apprised of governmental policies, laws, and actions.

A women’s ministry that encourages spiritual support and mutual growth in a better understanding amongst sisters.

The Lay Organization is formed for the purposes of: instilling in its membership a love and appreciation for the history, tradition and principles of African Methodism; advocating respect and loyalty to constituted authority; encouraging the support of the total program of the local church; fostering systematic and regular study; organizing and training lay members.

As a unified body with Christ-like qualities, we build a connectional bond that demonstrates pride through education, communication and mission work. We provide youth training programs in all areas of church life.

The Praise Team’s mission is to set the atmosphere for all who are in attendance to experience the presence of God.

The Hospitality Ministry extends personal greetings of welcome to all who enter the church, from the door to the sanctuary, every Sunday morning and at special events.  We assist the ministries of the church as ushers and food servers. We also make ourselves available to provide service and comfort to bereaved families during funerals.

The mission of the Married Couples Ministry is to encourage couples to mirror their marriages after Christ. The ministry utilizes fellowship to initiate means in which to follow biblical principles that will enable couples to become one.

A ministry that sends cards, makes calls, and makes visits to hospitals, nursing homes and homes of those who are sick and home-bound.

A feeding ministry that serves the poor and needy in our surrounding communities.

A ministry of sound technicians who work to provide quality audio and video of the Worship Services, including streaming live on FaceBook and Livestream.

A ministry that manages the kitchen and pantry areas and also prepares the collations for special events.

The mission of the Church School is to teach, train, nurture, prepare, and recruit adults and children in God's word for Christian service, emphasizing those Christian principles which are essential for effective Christian growth and participation.

Our Mission: To glorify God through our expressions in movement. We embrace the opportunity to dramatize our love for Jesus as we learn more about Him. We silently act out the message - the word of God, to help the congregation reach a higher spiritual realm in their worship experience.

The mission of the Men’s Choir is to, “bring glory and praise to God in Song; to bless souls with (the) ministry of song; to engage, activate and disciple men in the area of worship; and to reach be­yond the walls of the church to win souls for Jesus Christ”.

The objectives of the Men's Auxiliary are: to stimulate Christian fellowship among men of all ages, to perpetuate a relationship between Mt. Pisgah and the community, to assist Mt. Pisgah's usher boards by ushering fifth Sunday mornings and to serve the church in any other way requested.

We are a ministry geared to reach those men and women from the ages of 18 to 40.  We are trying to encourage uplift and provide an avenue for the church to minister to this population for God. We are growing and looking forward to God leading us as we reach out to His young adults. 

A ministry that offers scholarships to help our high school graduates with the cost of tuition and/or books for college.

A prophetic dance ministry comprised of men and women called of God to demonstrate through movement His power, His presence, and His unconditional love.

A ministry that actively encourages all people to intentionally be involved in a lifestyle of drawing near to God for a deeper relationship with God through prayer.

To fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ in the field of missionary work.
